From €25K to €1 Million: How Logicc Bootstraps an AI Revolution for Mid-Market Companies
Volume #10 of "Happy Bootstrapping" Newsletter
At just 25 years old, Benjamin Seifert has already founded multiple companies. His latest venture, Logicc, is an AI platform enabling businesses to work with AI in compliance with data protection regulations. In the conversation, the young founder shares insights into his bootstrapping adventure, which already generates monthly recurring revenue of €25,000 and aims to reach the million-euro ARR mark by year's end.
From Foundation to Six-Figure SaaS Business
Logic was founded in June 2024 and has developed rapidly since then. The four-person founding team has known each other since school days and previously realized other projects together, including Oak25, a startup selling reflective backpacks that was sold to a competitor at the end of 2023.
"We asked ourselves: What gave us that goosebump moment? With the internet, we were only one, two, or three years old. And now we're right at the forefront of this new technology and can help shape it a little bit."
What began as a fascination with new technology quickly developed into a concrete business model. The team recognized that many companies hesitate to use AI due to data protection concerns and lack of expertise. This is exactly where Logic comes in: The platform offers various AI models in a data protection-compliant way and simplifies usage for beginners through "AI assistants."
Currently, the MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) is around €25,000. The goal: By the end of the year, the team wants to achieve an annual recurring revenue of one million euros – without venture capital.
Technology Stack and USPs of the Platform
Logic integrates various AI models on one platform – from open-source variants to well-known commercial models like ChatGPT and Claude. A special feature is the "Smart Select AI," which automatically selects the appropriate model for each request.
"For heavy users, it's great because they don't have to jump between platforms anymore. For beginners, it's completely opaque what a ChatGPT 4.0 does better or worse than a Claude 3.7. That's why we built the Smart Select AI, which selects the appropriate model for each user prompt."
Data protection compliance is particularly important to the team. The models are either hosted in Europe or, for particularly sensitive use cases (such as with notaries or lawyers), can even be installed completely locally at the customer's site. Pricing models start at €14.90 for the Smart variant and range from Plus (€19.90) to Pro (€21.90), with the latter being the most popular option and including all features including the AI assistants.
Marketing and Challenges of Bootstrapping
Marketing has so far worked mainly through LinkedIn, press work, and word of mouth. A viral LinkedIn post with over 100,000 impressions brought the first big wave of interested parties. Classic press work in regional media like the Hamburger Abendblatt was surprisingly successful, particularly resonating with established mid-sized companies.
The biggest challenge in bootstrapping is balancing sustainable development with rapid growth. The team is currently financing itself from its own savings and operating cash flow. Although they have already received inquiries from VCs and angels, they place particular emphasis on "soft KPIs" – potential investors must bring more than just money.
"Even AI can't do that, at least not yet," Benjamin emphasizes regarding the need for personnel in sales. The company plans to invest primarily in sales and software development to achieve its ambitious growth goal.
Learnings as a Young Founder:
Focus on a real problem: Companies want to use AI but shy away from data protection issues
Clear division of labor in the founding team creates efficiency
Pricing as a "no-brainer" below major providers like ChatGPT
Track platform usage as the most important KPI, not just customer acquisition
Regional press work can be surprisingly effective, especially for B2B products
With his pragmatic approach and clear focus on the needs of companies in Germany, Benjamin shows that a successful AI startup can be built without millions in investment.
Happy Bootstrapping is a German podcast where I interview bootstrapped founders, indie hackers, and solopreneurs about their startup journeys. Over the years, I've connected with many successful entrepreneurs who have built e-commerce shops, SaaS platforms, mobile apps, content businesses, or hybrid models.
Furthermore I am a bootstrapper myself and growing my DevOps-as-a-Sercice and Web Operations Company “We Manage”.
